Finishes

Polished, satin, and honed granite are three of the many surface finish choices we offer at A Touch of Granite to assist you in creating your dream granite surface. Each surface finish will affect the overall design and feel of your space.

Polished Surface Finish

A polished surface is shiny, reflective and has a glossy mirror like finish. This finish brings out the full colour and depth of the granite. A polished finish seals the pores of the granite which helps repel moisture and minimize staining. A polished finish does not mean you don't need to seal your granite. Some granite types are extremely porous and need to be sealed regardless of the surface finish.

Satin Surface Finish

A satin surface finish is a middle of the road finish. This surface finish has a light or a faint gloss. It is not as shiny as the polished finish nor as matte like as the honed granite finish. It is in between the two.

Honed Surface Finish

A honed surface finish is a smooth surface without reflection. The granite will have a matte like appearance. The finish remains flatter than a full gloss polish. There are a variety of other custom surface finishes available. Please Contact us for more details.

• Leather Finish Granite Also Known As Satin Finish Granite: The granite surface is treated with wire rotary brushes making a smooth, slightly undulating, soft, suede-like finish. It is a low-maintenance finish however to control surface staining it should be treated with a good-quality stone sealer.
• River-Washed Finish Granite Also Known As Antiqued Finish Granite: This process was developed in-house several years ago. The granite is first sandblasted and then treated with special abrasives to create a non-reflective, slightly textured but smooth surface which brings out the natural beauty and colour of the granite. This is a harder-wearing surface than either honed or leather finishes.
• Flamed Finish Granite Also Known As Thermal Finish Granite Quite literally the granite surface is treated with extreme heat either by an automatic or manual flaming machine. Owing to the necessary high temperatures required, we do not recommend a a granite thickness of less than 20 mm. The granite surface created is a rough, deeply textured surface.
• Brushed Finish Granite Using coarse, rotary brushes, the flamed granite is then brushed removing some of the rough surface leaving a textured yet smooth, slightly rippled surface.
  

Packaging

Packaging for all your orders will be as per International Packing Standards. We never ever tried to save cost on wood or other packing materials. We consider that the quality of packing is as important as the quality of product.

Slabs Packing

Slabs - polished surface is also separated individually by plastic sheets to protect against scratches & they are well & strongly packed in wooden pallets.

If you need special packaging please inform us about your demands and also if you prefer your own brand or trademark please let us know.

Tiles Packing

10 mm & 12 mm thick modular tiles are first packed in Styrofoam Boxes and are further packed into Wooden Crates. Wooden Crate is fixed and tightened by Iron Strips.

Large size tiles

(e.g. 60 cm x 30 cm, 60 cm x 40 cm, 60 cm x 60 cm) are directly put into the strong and fresh wooden crates, they are separated individually by plastic sheets to protect against scratches.

We put all six sides thermocol sheet and the plastic sheet to avoid the breakage of corners.

Last but not the least our virtual inspection practice provides our family members i.e. our valued customer like you, the digital images of the material before loading as well as with the images of packed container.
